BELGIAN
MAGAZINE CHARGING ADAPTORS
ADAPTOR,
MAGAZINE CHARGING, X1E1
These very rare
adaptors were made by FN and supplied with the X8E1 and X8E2
British trials rifles in 1954. These were the forerunner of
the British and Canadian magazine charging adaptors.
Markings: X1E1
Finish: Black
paint over phosphated finish.
BELGIUM ARMY
FAL ADAPTOR, MAGAZINE CHARGING
Constructed very
similar to the X1E1 adaptor the front tower on this version is
taller and is similar in shape to all other magazine charging
adaptors. Due to the use of a gray phosphating process this
MCA was used by the Belgium Army who preferred to have their
weapons and accessories painted a shade of gray rather then
the more common satin black.
Markings: 'H' stamped on the back joining
flange.
Finish: Grey phosphated finish.
FN ADAPTOR,
MAGAZINE CHARGING
Constructed the same
as the above Belgium Army adaptor, these look identical to
other magazine charging adaptors in service with G1, StG58, R1
and 'Holland' FAL's. Its almost impossible to tell the
difference between each countries adaptor and for the most
part you have to rely on the country the adaptor has been
imported from to ID it.
The 'FAL' adaptors I have in the collection are most likely to
have come direct from FN hence I'm using these as the FN
example.
Markings: '2' or '6' stamped on the back
joining flange.
Finish: Satin black paint over
phosphated finish.
